  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground meat
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of Morton’s Tender quick salt
  • 3/4 tablespoon of liquid smoke
  • A dash of red pepper


  1. Mix all ingredients together, thoroughly. (Will make about 4 sticks)
  2. Form your sticks and put in the fridge, uncovered, for about 24 hours.
  3. Bake on wire rack for 60 minutes at 300 degrees. Enjoy!

    You mention mortons cures.I have Prague powder #1. Is there a difference in the amounts that are used?
