Best BBQ Beef Jerky Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 tablespoons of white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire
  • 2 tablespoons of ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of onion – minced
  • 2/3 cup of ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic – minced
  • 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke
  • Dash of cayenne
  • 1 cup of beer (your preference)
  • 1 packet of Nesco/American Harvest jerky cure mix
  • 1 pound of beef (or any meat type)

Directions:

  1. Freeze beef for 30 minutes and slice into 1/4″ thick strips.
  2. Mix together the sugars, oil, and onion in a hot pan, stir, reduce heat, and cook until onions caramelize. Add beer, simmer, cool and mix remaining ingredients together. Once thoroughly mixed or grinded, add meat.
  3. Marinate to your preference covered in the refrigerator.
  4. Remove and place in your dehydrator. Dry about 6-12 hours or to your preference.
  5. Check jerky regularly, it should bend but not break or be too chewy. Enjoy!

i tried this recipe, and didnt like it at all. i dont like sweet meat, so i used half the amount of sugars, half the amount of ketchup, but still it was sweet. and not very tasty at all.

not recommended at all. dont know why they call it “Best BBQ recipe”

I prefer using the newerhalogen ovens, they’re more efficient and you can use them for many things, the best one I’ve found is the Fagor Halogen Tabletop Oven, it’s rather inexpensive, and unlike a dehydrater, it’s very useful, I use it all the time, it comes with a parts list and costs, and it outlasts the NuWave, many times over, its glass not cheap plastic, I’ve had the NuWave, and it didn’t last over a year, I’ve had this for a while. Thank you.
